Prospective Parliamentary Candidates

Once you have been selected by a local party to fight their seat, you are their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, and will be expected to lead their campaigning — not just for your parliamentary seat, but for other elections such as Council and European (or parliamentary / assembly if you are a European candidate).

We would strongly recommend that you Join the Parliamentary Candidates Association if you want to fight your seat effectively. The example of Ludlow in 2001 and Solihull in 2005 proves that you do not need to be in a necessarily promising seat to win an election — but you do need good advice and support.
